About the Role
The Senior Brand Designer crafts excellent creative work across brand identity and design systems of various scales and complexity across the full experience (core identity, campaign, packaging, digital, print, environment, etc.). A role obsessed with craft and storytelling, understanding that what makes great work is how it comes to life in the details.
You have a sensitivity to tone that gives you the ability to express different ways of seeing, and navigate the subtle qualities required to craft distinct visual worlds, from design to art direction. The aesthetics you create express a unique vision that translates a strategic positioning in to a visual world.
Day-to-day you’re motivated, communicate ideas strategically, and can work both autonomously and with the support of a team. This role reports to the ACD or Design Director depending on the project.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Translate a strategic brand narrative & foundation, into a relevant, authentic, & stand-out brand identity, design system, & world.
- Explore a wide variety of directions for brand worlds & systems that demonstrate range, transcend trend, & possess strong conceptual & strategic foundations.
- Create complex brand & design systems that adopt a multidisciplinary approach across various touch points (core identity, packaging, print, digital, environmental, etc.), taking ownership of delivery while ensuring work gets done to the highest standard. **
- Provide insightful input during project planning, ideation, & feedback sessions to advance, inspire, & take the work further.
- Bring relevant research across a vast range of unexpected inspirations from in & beyond the world of design, art, fashion, architecture, historical archives, & the everyday to allow the unexpected to happen & thoughtful solutions to arise.
- Conceptualize & design packaging systems that are reflective of, & elevate, the brand world they stem from.
- Prepare high-quality, inspiring presentations that take clients & colleagues on a journey, as well as engage in & present the work with strong storytelling, inspiring manner, & strong articulation of your ideas, solutions, & why they’re strategically on point.
- Contribute to, organize, build, & participate in brand workshops, competitive analysis, & audits with applied strategic thinking & point of view.
- Lead design on your assigned projects from kick off to design & delivery, ensuring that internal deadlines & timelines are respected across phases.
